A delinquent utility account will result in a lien being placed upon the property.

The city may enforce the lien by shutting off water, sewer and/or storm drainage service until all delinquent and unpaid charges are paid in full. The city shall have separate sewer, water, and storm drainage liens as allowed by law. The sewer lien, in accordance with the provisions of RCW 35.67.215, is effective for one year’s delinquent service charges without the necessity of any writing or recording of the lien with the county auditor. Unpaid charges for sewer shall bear interest at eight percent per annum computed on a monthly basis. Said sewer lien shall be foreclosed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 35.67 RCW. (Ord. 1107-15 § 2; Ord. 947-04 § 2).
