The fire marshal shall strive to obtain a working knowledge of fire prevention principles, practices and procedures and principles of municipal fire administration. Further, the fire marshal shall have a knowledge of maintaining records and other related paperwork, a working knowledge of the Algona Fire Code rules and regulations, working knowledge of first aid and skill in its application, working knowledge of fire prevention and city ordinances relating to fire prevention, some knowledge of the location of streets, fire alarm boxes, buildings and hydrants in the city, the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, and the ability to promote harmony, exercise sound judgment and cooperate with other officers and men.
