There is created the position of director of public works. The director of public works is responsible for the activities of the public works department which include water, sewer, street, building and planning. The director of public works is the responsible official in the administration of all ordinances wherein the utility superintendent was the designated official. The director of public works shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council subject to all provisions of Chapter 2.76. (Ord. 735 § 1, 1993).
