The city council at the request of the city attorney may hire associate counsel to aid in specialized matters, or in case of conflict of interest by the city attorney, and may provide for reasonable fees for such counsel. Should no set fee be provided for the attorney or attorneys, such persons shall be paid on a quantum merit basis. (Ord. 376 § 5, 1980).
