A. The term of office of the five members appointed by the mayor shall be four years. Existing members of the planning commission will serve until either their resignation or the expiration of their existing term of office, whichever shall occur first. The positions of the members shall be assigned position numbers. The city clerk shall maintain a record of expiration dates by position, and members shall be appointed so that their terms expire on a rotational basis. The terms of the five members shall be fixed and designated by the mayor at the times of appointment.

B. Vacancies occurring other than through the expiration of terms shall be filled for the unexpired terms.

C. Any appointed member who fails to attend two consecutive regular meetings without due cause can be automatically dismissed, on the motion of the remaining members, from the planning commission.

D. The members shall be selected without respect to political affiliation, race, creed, sex and/or age and they shall serve without compensation, except as in Section 2.12.090. (Ord. 1045-11 § 2; Ord. 632 § 2, 1989; Ord. 584 § 1, 1987; Ord. 384 § 4, 1980).
