In accordance with RCW 35A.12.070 the salary of the mayor shall be fixed by ordinance and may be revised from time to time by ordinance, but any increase in the compensation attached to an office shall not be applicable to the term then being served by the incumbent if such incumbent is a mayor in a mayor-council code city if he casts a tiebreaking vote relating to such an ordinance; provided, that if the mayor of such a city does not cast such a vote, his salary may be increased during his term of office.

In accordance with RCW 35.21.015, the salaries of the councilmembers will be set by a salary commission as created by AMC 2.52.022. (Ord. 1084-14 § 1; Ord. 364 § 2, 1979).
